curled up...

hey lovelies!!!
tomorrow is my FIRST day of work and I'm hella excited and nervous!! i have to go through this "make a good impression" thing all over again...ok. i'm a congenial person so i'm not worried too much. the only drawback is having to learn names. but you know what don't wanna have to worry about???
MY HAIR!!
this is not something that i wanna be stressed out about. i've been trying to do the sleek and straight look but it was ridiculously hot today and i kept frizzing up...so i'm just gonna curl it!! unfortunately, you won't be able to see the final product until tomorrow, which I will try to do tomorrow night if I'm not too mentally drained.
ok, so here are my tools:
6 foam rods
4 hair rollers ((plastic))
a comb
a brush
chi 44 iron guard

i start by separating my hair into 4 parts--i want my curls big and loose only because that's the way I like it.
*disclaimer: i look crazy--i am halfway through my facial regimen

next, i take the portion that i want to rod and i spray it lightly with the chi 44 iron guard...simple.

then i rod...rolling the hair towards me ((once again, my preference)) and then i twist with just the intent to secure the roller...i don't have any actual method on which way I twist the rod, but i know that some people do
yea, i've still got a lot left--but this process moves along quickly so...here we go!

i'm finally finished!!

i spray my entire head generously one last time before i sit under the dryer--which isn't necessary. but I'm impatient  and i want to make sure that my entire head is curled before i take the rods out ((my preference--not necessary)). oh look! My baby wanted some attention LOL.

and then she wanted to get in on some of the camera action....

oh and i forgot to mention that i use a dryer. this is what it looks like...I sit under here for 15-20 minutes with a glass of something cold and a magazine.

and i also forgot to mention that i use the rollers in the back to bump my hair--to add more volume!

but that's all I have for now!! you will see the final results tomorrow after i return from work!!
night lovies---gotta get to bed early and trust me when i say "i'm so not used to this".

walk this way!!!

Hey LOVERS!!
How many shoeNISTAS do we have out there?? Do you have an obsession, infatuation, or fetish?? I know I do, but I can only speak for myself.  But the truth is that I haven't really done some serious shoe shopping in a while. I still have a lot of shoes but my shoe game used to be ON POINT!!
Anyway...I was thinking back to my closet & just really wondering whether there as any uniqueness to any of my shoes--which there is, but there aren't any that I would call EXCLUSIVE. Lately, I have been seeing celebrities wearing the most creative, most inventive & sometimes unwearable shoes. LOL
For example, check out Andreia Chaves' ((Brazil native)) shoes:
THE INVISIBLE SHOE

THE TWIRLED SHOE ((made out of metal & PVC))

THE PRISM SHOE

THE FORM & TEXTURE SHOE

THE VELCRO SHOE

I can honestly say that her shoes are INCREDIBLE--I would love to have a pair of those INVISIBLE shoes!! Her shoes are so inventive & artistic...it's unbelievable.

Now lets talk about the late & great Alexander McQueen...these have got to be the weirdest, yet most popular shoes on the face of this planet ((for the moment)).

THE PLATOS ATLANTIS SHOES

I never thought I would see so many celebs in this shoe & I was wrong!

Lady Gaga ((but what's new--she's always wearing outrageous shit))

kelis ((once again--no surprise here))

Here is Heidi Klum in another pair of Alexander McQueen's shoes--you would NEVER catch me in these ones here--sorry!! I'm not sure of the name but they all seem to go with "The Killer Heel" theme.

I would have to say these here are my favorite shoes by Mr. McQueen. I could be wrong, after all I haven't seen all his shoes, yet. But I adore these.

Now, I'm going to focus on & pay homage to Lady Gaga for a second because when it comes to shoes, home girl delivers! Here she is in Georgio Armani's.

Also, Victoria Beckham...this lady has a mean shoe game & she does not play. She was the first person I saw in the "no heel" or "heel-less" shoes which were designed by Antonio Berardi. I would just like to walk in them just to rate the difficulty...is it one of those things that is easier than it looks? I don't know--you be the judge.

Here's a different pair...

I also have to close out by showing respect to he Chinese designer, Guo Pei. Check out his work which I feel depicts the Chinese arts.

And again...

Finally, do you know who makes these???

Well, that is all for now my little lovelies!! I hope you enjoyed reading this entry as much had writing it--I do have a fascination with shoes & I become easily intrigued by the "out of the box" designs.

who inspires me???

MORNING LOVERS!!
I have always been the preppy kid, my mom styled me in Gap jeans & J. Crew tees. While I was wearing Banana Republic & Calvin Klein everyone else was wearing Ecko, Rocawear, or ENYCE. I must admit that I was a bit jealous then--I attended a racially diverse school but the hip hop look was in. So what I was wearing then was not "in". But since then my style has remained preppy--I still wear Gap & Polo. People often asks me where my inspiration comes from...honestly if I had it my way I would've been a teen in the 80's & not a toddler.
Cyndi Lauper

...& again ((gorgeous))

 ...& Madonna in the 80s--

I've always been in love with the creativity & the freedom of the 80s & it inspires me. I would describe my style as the 80s & the preppy look thrown in a blender. I refuse to limit myself...if I see a girl & I like her outfit I take a mental picture. I pull from magazines, blogs, friends, & celebs just like most--if I like it I'll try it. But since today I'm labeling; to put a name on it, I would say my style mimics Rihanna

It's not too crazy & not too clean ((I luv it!!))

...& again it's effertless

But I love her's, Lady Gaga's, Amber Rose's fashion sense & often extreme style ((if I lived a public life & had a stylist I would dress just as extreme)).

 Ms Lady Gaga

All in all I would like to think I do have uniqueness to my style, but I'm pretty sure that there is someone in the limelight that you could find I mimic--whatever! It is my individual choice to dress the way I do & this makes it my individuality.
Later Lovelies!!

NO MORE DRUG STORES!!

HEY LOVERS!!
OK! So I'm officially done & I mean FINISHED with the drug store cosmetics hauls. I went into Sephora's today & I wanted to spend, I mean I really did. I've been spending a lot of time with my family & since we have a CVS, Walgreens, & Rite Aid within 5 minutes from the house, these are the places I've been going to. Everything in Sephora's just looked unnecessary!! And I  absolutely love this store. But what I am showing off tonight has been sitting in my camera for a few days...I'm doing some cleaning loves ((so I might have a few posts tonight)).
OK so I went to Dollar Tree, I usually get my q-tips, cotton balls, etc. from here, & it's right next to Harmon's ((where I go to rack up on toiletries)). In there, my little sister who is not allowed to shave, found these!!

In the As Seen On TV ads they're called "Smooth Away".

Unfortunately, the excitement didn't last too long...this was probably the worst purchase of the year LOL. It sucked big time!! But while in there I found something that is definitely beneficial to me in the summer time.

These are the knock offs of the As Seen on TV's "Strap Perfect". And I must say this has been the best dollar I have spent all year.

My CVS  has been having random cosmetics for 50% & 75% off which I think is a great deal, especially when they have the BOGO specials ((either the second item is half off or free)).

So the first items I got were these super rich, highly pigmented lip colors--I believe I ended up paying like $2.00 for each one ((don't quote me)). They are both from the L'OREAL H.I.P. line.

But the first one was in the color ARRESTING which has been a great compliment to the new Revlon lipstick I got which is pictured below...

It's called BERRY HAUTE...even though it looks pink here.
Here I am wearing the two, now remind you this was my first time wearing purple & I am really expending my horizons as far as color goes & I'm enjoying it.

Anyways, the second color I purchased was PRECARIOUS, I haven't used it yet ((but it's like a mix between a peach & a strawberry)).

I also bought this lip gloss, but I don't even remember how much I paid for it or what the name of the color is, I gave it away because it was too sticky for my liking--but it was a great buy, so that doesn't bother you then you should run out & grab some.

Everyone who knows me, knows my favorite color is blue! So I got this eyeliner from the same line of H.I.P. products in a navy blue ((also 75% off)).

I also went to Target to grab some ELF products, the selection was limited but I did get this lip moisturizer which I hate because it leaves a white residue on my lips. I also got a pair of eyelashes which I am honestly done with--I don't need them at all. These 2 were a waste of money LOL

I did get another eyeshadow brush, which is a necessity, I could never have too many of those!!

And out of curiosity I bought this "Waterproof Eyeliner Pen" which is like a marker in ESPRESSO--I have been using it to fill in my eyebrows & for that it works perfectly.

Again from L'OREAL, I bought this amazing product. It's a liquid pencil eyeliner...not sure if it makes sense to you. But it's really amongst the same lines as MAC's "Eye Kohl" in SMOLDER.

The products were buy one get one half off so I bought this natural eyes quad kit from L'OREAL for DARK EYES. I figured it would come in handy for those rushed mornings & I tried it out & surprisingly I was satisfied with it.

OMG!! I really didn't realize how much crap I had sitting in my camera--this is why I am done with these pharmacies. The prices are too good & thus you end up picking up a bunch of stuff. But, I only have a few more. So the lipsticks were buy one get one free!! Couldn't pass that up right?! LOL These are both from Rimmel London...
The first one I have to show off is in CRUSH

And the second one is in AIRY FAIRY.

Well, as for make-up that's all my beauties!! I am in dire need of clothes now--maybe not dire but I'm on to the next best thing. Shoes & clothes!!
Stay safe my LOVELIES!!
