hey lovies... now if you haven't heard that kanye west has debuted his 2012 spring/summer collection of "Dw" this past weekend n paris then you have clearly been sleeping under a rock!
shoes from giuseppe zanottie...
mentoring by british designer louise goldin and givenchy's very own riccardo tisci...
front row cameos from the olsen twins, ciara, lindsey lohan, and anna wintour...
the guest desinger list included sylvia fendi, alexander wang, jeremy scott, joseph altuzarra...
the models marched to waka flocka flame (twitter whale)...
according to the tabloids, this little honey accompanied kanyeezy throughout the event/after party...
now kanye is without a doubt one of the best rappers out and one of my personal faves... here a quote made my the musical genius himself:
"i took out motherf***ing loans to get the best models, to get the best designers, to get the best venues. i gave you everything i had. this is my first collection. please be easy. please give me a chance to grow. this is not some celebrity s***, i don't f*** with celebrities. i f*** with the creatives in this room, the amazing people who spend everyday of their life life trying to make the world a more beautiful place"
the looks consisted of mostly leathers, furs, and sweater dresses... but we're wearing this into the spring/summer...?? some of the looks i loved and others appeared to be a little more video chick-ish; the deep plunging necklines with the high slits... i really did have a flash back of jay's "change clothes" music video. overall, i thought he did pretty well for his first go-round considering the following:
it's a women's line from a straight (heterosexual) guy
it is his FIRST and he probably had a bunch of ideas and had the desire to implement them all
beauty is in the eye of the beholder
it's not the first time i've looked at a collection and thought "unrealistic" and "unwearable"
however, kanye you have some nerve requesting sympathy! lol. because you are a rapper and because of your level of arrogance you are unfortunately going to be judged more harshly. the rap game is tough but everyone knows that it's got nothing on the fashion industry. so there you have "ye" or nay.
